The Cape Hare is predominantly nocturnal, however I guess no one told this one. Shot about 7.00am he/she was quite happy with our presence and continued to munch away for a good few minutes. I have a sneaking suspicion it's a female because of the colouring, but I am sure I will be corrected :-) Will post another image later, head on.

You do like these vertical shots Stephen - did you actually shoot it portrait or have you cropped it?
Nice shot, pity the ears are a tad soft, and I'd like it more with some space on the left, but a nice image all the same
Hi Andy, I guess the reason for the portarait was to emphasis the ears. The shot is full frame and I focused on the eye as the light really picked up on it, so the ears went a tad soft because of the DOF f4.5. As you can only post one shot per day here I guess the shot of the ears will have to wait

I think portrait mode works really well here. Very nice.

Great looking Hare shot Stephen. Works well.
Just look at those veins in the ears. I assume its for them to loose heat more readily unlike our Brown Hare? Well done.

Certainly is an attention grabber with that massive eye. Its a really bold composition. Saw plenty of these at night, but none during the day. Well done
