Stange image file this - looks great as a 16bit 4200+ tiff but I've tried every which way to drop it to 720jpg and it just doesn't look as good :frown: :frown: Those funny little specular highlights on all the tiny hairs are driving me nuts!

Don't know if anyone agrees with the species id.

Usual techs - D2Xs+Sig 180mm/ISO 200/f8@1/250th

Thanks for looking anyway :toast: :toast:

Without consulting my guide I can't say, but it is a nice image, sharp, clean, etc. etc.

Cheers

Excellent.. sometimes you just have to admit that compression will not do an image any good, but doesn't look too bad my end.

Hi Andy

You are right - this is E. pertinax. The pale yellow tarsi ("feet") on the front and mid legs are a good diagnostic feature.
