A remote lake and a few waterfalls in the backcountry of Glacier National Park. Thanks for looking.

Very nice shot Marc. This is quite a scene. I really like the depth, and the detail that shows up in the water texture, middle ground rocks and even on the far highest mountain. I do wish there was a little more contrast in the middle ground/left frame cliffs. They seem a little flat to me. A little more contrast would make the farthest left frame peak stand out a bit more.

Lovely. The waterfalls are enormous. Really like how the clouds seem to shoot out the top of the peak. Looking forward to the onslaught of Glacier NP photos you'll be posting.

Thanks David. This was actually taken last year, about the 1st of October, so no more from me. It's a bit too early yet for these colors anyway. I'll be heading for the Sierra and southwest this year instead.

Marc,
It is supposed to be purple mountain majesty. I see the waterfalls in the BG having a tint that draws my eye to that point instantly. The far shore foliage seems to be blocking up. Saturation, Web presentation issue?
Not really up to your standards, but nice regardless.

Saturation is just fine here, Jim. There's a bit of blue in the background falls probably due to the open shade. I can fix it easy.
I'm posting this simply because it was the most beautiful place I've ever seen, not because I could do it justice with the camera. Mid-day shooting is never perfect. Abundant grizzly activity and a designated campsite 4 miles away makes sunrise photography here nearly impossible.

I hear you. Just commenting on what I saw. I didn't think you just wanted me to look.
Maybe I will just choose my words better next time, if there is a next time.

I'll agree with the comments about the mid ground contrast and the flat feeling, but this is still one of the best photos of the lake I've ever seen. Been dying to get in there myself (or to just get back to Glacier for that matter - its been 10 years for me). I'm actually quite surprised there was that much water coming down Atsina Falls in October for that matter.

Great color, amazing view. I like the texture on the water. One of my favorite places.

Awesome view - mid-ground is really bright (seems overly yellow on my displays) but seeing this in person has to be jaw-dropping.

Very nice bright mid-day shot. Those clouds are great. Looks like a great place for a swim.

I was told yesterday to go to Glacier NP. Plan to someday soon...maybe I'll call in sick to work for a week straight...hmmm...
Lovely scene. "most beautiful"...big statement coming from you Marc. This is a wonderful image, even for daytime. I see what Jim is saying on the saturation...it does look a bit bright on my screen for detail and not your usual style. Doesnt matter though...art is art, and I really like this.

Gorgeous location and photo. It's too bad the designated campsite is so far; this would really sing with better light!

Marc,
I definatly can see why you posted this. I think it's excellent. Alot of eye candy can be found here. The haze above the falls doesn't bother me too much. It sure is a beautiful place where I would love to visit someday.

Wow, that is one epic landscape! Beautiful, I'm glad you shared this.

Amazing Marc, especially for being at midday. The tiered rock is great, plus the waterfalls, and a nice cloud to fill the sky. What more could you want!!

I have no problems with this one, Marc, it's a great shot. I can't say I'd frame it but it'll surely be in any book you put out about this area.
Beautiful shot! I'm pretty sure I hiked through here this summer if its were I think it is. Me and a buddy actually came face to face with a grizzly, pretty scary but exciting stuff. Agree with you on the difficult situations up there with the back country camping. Tons of places I'd love to go shoot at sunrise/set now that I've gotten into photography, but can't.
