Thanks to those that turned out Paul, Paul, Paul, Phillip and John.
A good day was had; the weather was very good in the morning with blue skys creating dappled spot light.
Everything 'red' performing as usual.
Moved on to Marshside afterwards and took photos of that rare flyer.. a Spitfire/Hurricane I.Ded by Paul?

Absolute gem of an image Tom - great light, super BG - cracking
Teensy-weeny nit over those IN FOCUS needles at bottom corner, but that's only a miniscule one - me being super-picky motivated by envy

Nice shot Tom. I'm impressed you managed to get such good shutter speeds... almost all my shots are ISO 800+.
Shame we ended up all scattered about the place, our little group didnt know where to point our lenses. We had Squirrels at all points of the compass! Thankfully i had two bodies, as they where regularly within my minimum focus distance on my 500.
Btw yes i think the Hurricane was a later mk1 or an early II, and the Spit was (i think) an XIV
Two pretty rare warbirds

A beatiful image. The lighting, composition and definition are perfect.

Nice one Tom. The sun's spotlight lit this scene really well and you managed to find one of those really red squirrels (not the almost black ones I always see!) Like the low angle and dark, clean background that makes this ping out

Great capture Tom, I certainly miss some of the North West's inhabitants!
Best wishes

Glad to see you had a good time! Very attractive setting for this chap and I really like "spot light" effect. As Andy, I to could live without those needles .

Good day out, really enjoyed it.

Sadly the Hurricane is even rarer after one crashed last weekend, even sadder that the pilot went down with her
Phillip.
And thanks for organising such a good day out.
