I noticed this flower stalk in the neighbors garden that was loaded with buds and liked the the shape and colors. The nice clean background helps too.

Dale, it looks like it might be a blackberry lily, Belamcanda chinensis. You'll know for sure when it opens. It's in my book. Although it is not native, I included it in my book because it is known to escape from cultivation. You can sometimes find it growing around old homesites. The name is misleading because it is in the iris family. The fruit somewhat resembles a blackberry, IF it is indeed a blackberry lily.
Best,
Don

Thanks Don. I have seen the Blackberry lily in the wild. They are a very interesting flower. I thought that they might be in the iris family due to the leaves they have. This year I did notice the berrys for the first time to. I never did see the above plant bloom at the neighbors. It is our neighbor at the Lake of the Ozarks and the deer got it before it could open. Thanks for the comment.

Good to know that this photo was taken earlier. I was wondering why it would be starting to flower this late in the season. This would have been quite a show with that many flower buds but a deer's gotta eat...
