Buff-breasted Sandpiper (2nd attempt)
40D, 500L with 1.4x, ISO 200, 1/250, f/8, tripod.

Went back to the same area last evening, sat myself down and waited. This bird just didn't stop moving and this is about the only decent shot I got of it out in the open. Even though Phil Shaw had recommended to me on my previous shot to try and get the s.speed up to around 1/400 when birds like this are always on the move as you can see I still didn't heed his advice and the head area of the bird is not as sharp as it could be. I guess I really should have been on iso400. Apart from that I'm pleased to have got a decent shot of this rare visitor.

Thanks

Paul

Nice one Paul - mind you I quite liked the first one too :toast:

Great PoV, the OoF FG I could live with too, but if I'm really picky there's just a bit too much of that leg hidden for me, but like I said, that's being super-picky

I like this a lot - not least because it captures the "jizz" of the bird very well indeed!
