I went up Bishop Creek canyon yesterday afternoon, on the Sabrina and South lake sides. Seems like the color has progressed more on the Sabrina side than on South lake side. What I found interesting on both sides is the amount of tangerine colored leaves showing up. Seems more orange/tangerine color than I've seen in the last few seasons. Take that with a grain of salt as I've only got that many seasons of fall color under my belt.

North lake area color is coming along but still a bit out. It was snowing in the high country with fluries at north, sabrina, and south lake yesterday. Snow was sticking at about 10k and higher.
The viewable image here was taken across from sabrina campground.

Here's some pics from yesterday, all from the sabrina side:

Lookin' Good!

The weather is supposed fair up nicely over the coming week, so the mountains should be looking their best. Go get 'em!

Thanks for update, Cory!

I'm thinking of doing a weekend trip sometime in October when things are good, I'll try to give you a call if I go. Nice stuff.

Hmmm? I'm not too impressed given some of my other sources. At least as a non mountain local that doesn't want to waste gas and make just one week long trip. I'm betting there will be quite a lot of early leaf seekers this weekend some of which will provide more sober appraisals. This last storm probably did some good kicking off changes but the mild summer conditions seems to have resulted in slower changes. ...David
