Hello. I post on Photoportfolio and would like my portfolio to come up when a google, or other, search is done on my name. I notice that when I search some photographers names their portfolio on Photoportfolio comes up. What do I need to do to make this happen for me? Thanks Richard Bullough

I think it is a question of time before a search engine picks up on the existance of your portfolio page.

It's amazing how quickly some of them work. I took a photo and posted it on Wednesday evening, and a search in Google ("full moon over dc") found it on Thursday. Probably because that was in the Title Tag, and not just the body. My suggestion to the people operating Photoportfolios.net is to add the name of the photo to the Title Tag. It might speed things up a bit.

It'll take two things to get it where you want in search engine status. First, the page has gotta be indexed by the search engines. Second, it should be optimized for the keywords you wish a search engine to find it with.
On quick glance, it doesn't even look like your page is indexed (at least in google), which is interesting as looking at your portfolio I'm guessing its been around long enough for search engines to find it. Although there are many things I like about photoportfolios, I hate to say that the way it is currently designed right now isn't conducive to be indexed (or optimized) by search engines. (By the way, I very much enjoyed glancing through your photos in your portfolio. Some excellent work you've got )
Thanks everybody for your responses. Hopefully, with time, it will start showing up in searches. Thanks also, Greg, for the kind feedback about my photos. I appreciate it. RB

Hey Richard - Just a stupid little tip - the "www" on the front of your web address for Photoportfolios isn't necessary. http://members.photoportfolios... works just fine. Very nice portfolio as well.
