Taken on my way home after 2 days of rain at Wallowa Lake. The rain didn't help photography much but put a lid on the memaloose wildfire near Hat Point.
Thanks Jesse. The air was clean and clear the morning I found this scene and I suspect the
haze is a remnant of processing with inexpensive Corel software. That will change soon!
Hey, Larry, I like the pastoral serenity in this valley. To accentuate that aspect, if that's what prompted you to shoot it, I'd favor cropping top and bottom-- not to a square-- but enough to bring the eye more to the bldgs and barn. Also, I found myself drawn to the little "sky hole" at the horizon. Losing the blue sky at the top makes me notice that spot more, then. Looks like its a nice drive through there?
It is a beautiful drive Catherine and you're right on all points. My only available view of this scene was too far away to localize the barn against the backdrop of the mountains without looking zoomed to death so my only option was to include more and hope for
a balanced more composition. My horizontal shot didn't fare any better in my opinion but here it is.

Sounds like your composition options were limited. A close grazing cow and calf anchoring one of the lower corners would have really added, but there I go dreaming again . Are you adding Photoshop? If so you're in for a lot of fun.
