Dry and Hot Autumn-Streams and Waterfalls

Hello,

I am new to this forum. I really enjoy reading the posts here and looking at everyone's websites. I do have a question.

I live on the Seacoast of New Hampshire. I had planned on doing a trip up through New Hampshire, over into Vermont, coming down south and heading back home. I want to shoot autumn foliage along with some waterfalls. I plan on doing this trip next week. It has been so hot and dry(I don't like it at all) that I would think that many streams and waterfalls would be low right now. Does anyone have any information on this? I spoke to someone today who was in the White Mountains this week. She said everything is very dry and the colors are not that great.

Thanks,
Scott

Scott,
I thought that the colors were coming in fine, but there is little water. You will have to stick to the bigger, heavier waterfalls.

Classic autumn shots like silver cascade in Crawford Notch, or stairs/cloudland falls in franconia simply are flowing too lightly...but if you go to a powerful stream like glen ellis falls, lower falls on the swift river you should be fine. I recommend picking up a book "waterfalls of the white mountains" and reading through the descriptions. The bigger the river the better for you right now...

Goood luck!
