Nothing like a late September day in the Sangres. Not a soul on the trail all day, and absolutely ideal hiking weather. Was pressed for time, so took a quick hike up to Lake of the Clouds and a bit beyond. As mentioned elsewhere, the color is about a week before peak.

Nice shooting, Stan. Not the most flattering light in that first one, but the colors are out of this world!

What Rick said. I love that second one, the pine tree really anchors the scene nicely.

Thanks; i knew i wouldnt get great light at mid day, so i concentrated on closer shots (see ESS)
