Hello... Just wanted to say a quick word of thanks for all the comments on the hyena and elephant. This one is for all you bird lovers! Just one of thousands shot at Lake Nakuru. It is very tricky attempting to pick one bird that is actually doing something. Spent most of my time waiting for a group to dance in uniform, or single birds taking off or landing.
This is one of 6 frames of a flamingo in a running take-off. I have plenty that are in the centre of the frame, but I liked the way this leaves a trailing leg and water spray. We drove to locations where the hills in the background were reflected in the water, then it didn't matter if the sky was white.

A cracking shot and for me all the more impressive as it conjures up memories of my honeymoon 2 years ago.
A wonderful place but as you mentioned in your previous flamingo post, an area under increasing pressue from agriculture which drains much of the water from the great rift valley.
