I posted an image similar to this a while back and on my last visit, tried the same composition.
This one has been cropped some to reduce the bottom portion that was in out of focus - also the barely discernible stem was cloned out..

Nice Ned. I think I like this one without the darker bottom though. When I put the bottom off screen, the image seems to have more impact for me. Very beautiful color.
Agreed. Try a square with all the crop coming off the bottom, Ned. See what you think. Good color. You didn't give technicals, but this looks pretty shallow; barely enough in focus. That's why I think the crop to square will focus attention on the edges of the petals that are in focus.

Well, I know what Jeremy meant to say! Yes, Ned that's much better; possibly another 1/4 to 1/2" off the bottom. See what you think. Gets more subjective at this point, probably.
