Kingfisher-Alcedo atthis + REPOST
Hi Guys,

Yes.....i know....it's another Kingfisher...
I am just kind of hooked on these gorgeous birds lately and for this shot i have switched some of the perches as i really liked this dried flower bud as a perch...

Greetings,

Jeroen Stel

Another belter of a shot Jeoen :toast: :toast:

Is the head a tiny bit tight to the top of the frame - maybe, but a cracking image - I'm consummed with envy as all my local Kings seem to have vanished :frown:

Hi Guys,

Here's a repost as i feel that this is indeed better when cropped vertically with some more room at the top...

Like this better Jeroen - 1326mm and such good high iso performance - you gotta be pleased with your current setup :wavey:

Hi Andy,

I am thrilled about both my Mark3 and the 600mm F4! I shoot allmost al images at 500 ISO as you can't notice any noise...
With my 20D coupled to my 500mm F4.5 and the Soligor 1.7 i also had 1360mm so i was used to a lot of mm, but quality-wise the 600mm is much better and coupled to the Mark3 it's a whole lot faster..

Jeroen Stel

Beautiful shot, Jeroen. I like the crop either way.
Where did you get that Soligor 1.7x converter? I`m looking to increase my reach, possibly for some Kingfisher shots. I`m quite pleased with results I`m getting with the Kenko Pro 1.4x, so would consider getting a Soligor if results are of similar quality. How sharp do you find it? Thanks.

Nice one, certainly an unusual perch....

Hi Jeremy,

Over here in the Netherlands you can get the converter at Kamera-Express see:

http://www.kamera-express.nl/index.php?page=subsubtypes&subsubtype=565

I guess they ship it abroad also..??

The quality is equal to that of the Kenko Pro converters is my experience as i have both, but the 1,7x TC will give you AF on most Canon camera's.

Hi Jeroen. Both very fine shots - but the repost is best composition wise.

Like them both but the second one really does it for me.
