I'm a newbie to this forum, being somewhat in awe of the postings here. However, here goes with a somewhat sleepy fox whom I observed for about 10 minutes without him being aware of me at all! This is one of a series of images that filled up my card!
Canon 40D
400 mm f4 DO
1/500
f5.6
ISO 500!
(Tweaked in Canon's DPP which I hate because Apple's Aperture has no RAW profile for the 40D yet.)
Welcome to the forum and a fine shot to begin with.
Looks like the fox has found a very comfortable spot there.

Hi Pete,
Welcome to the forum
Cracking opening shot, showing a nice bit of behaviour. Being super critical and picky, for me the image would be better on the eye if you cloned out those four branches from behind.
Regards
Rob

Hi Pete,
I hope you don't mind but decided to have a go at cloning the branches out to see if you think the image has improved, just a quick bash at it using a 15pt and 22pt brush zoomed in at 300% to clone them out. If you don't like it I will take down.
Regards
Rob

stunning image pete. i actually for some reason prefer the non cloned edition. i think the cloned out version looks a little too manufactured.
welcome.

Cool shot. Cool first post. I see what Rob is after in his version, but it's a bit too much cloning for me and I wouldn't sleep easy doing that to one of my images (no offence Rob)
Lovely image well timed

Cracking shot Pete
As an image, i prefer the cloned version, although i would feel uncomfortable with such a major alteration, if it was mine.
That reminds me.........i must make an appointment with my dentist

Welcome to UKNP. Just love foxes and this is a beauty. A fantastic opportunity that doesn't occur to often. Hope you've made a mental note of the location so you can return. He'll probably return again and again.

Welcome to UKNP Pete... hope you've got a few more like this one!
(I'm sure there'll be an update for os-x for the 40D soon).
