As a younger fellow I spent some summers in Creede. Among the locals there was a story that in the old mining times three young sisters had died from a disease within days of each other and were buried in the cemetary near the ghost town of Bachelor. And at that site three trees had grown at the headstones of the sister's graves. Indeed there were three old trees that had sprouted and grown from a common spot in the old overgrown cemetary. Many of the headstones were long gone, so it was hard to tell where the sisters may have been laid to rest. Possibly a bit of embellished local lore, but it was at least a fun spot to visit, sometimes with a young lady in the late evening. Sorry for the digression, but the photo reminded me of the story. Taken near Kebler Pass last week.
