After a much needed snow, we finally got one yesterday and last night....I was up very early and out the door headed to Trillium in hopes of a killer sunrise with scattered clouds and light on the freshly snow covered mountain. I got there and it was totally socked in with fog and rain....sunrise was not happening there.....I took off and went up to Timberline where it was totally clear and beautiful with the new snow....then back down to Trillium to see if it had cleared...Nope....so back to Mount Hood meadows where it was clear....then thinking it was late enough in the day I headed back to Trillium one more time only to find the whole south side of the mountain fogged in......so up to Sahalie Falls I go...round the bend and here is Mount Hood in her glory....the soft focus on the mountain is fog lifting...no photoshop stuff there...it was a driving day from hell but I did manage some great shots....Just thought I would post this one to show ya the first snow of the season.....more later....
Cheers

Fall color, fresh snow...can't beat that combo. The driving day from hell was worth it. Nice stuff.
I do love the mountain with snow the best. This is a good one for all of your efforts. Just wait until next weekend after all the rain...

It's nice to catch a dusting like this, isn't it. I might be tempted to play with a version croped right at (or just below) the treeline. The fog isn't heavy enough to tell it's really there and so it just makes the mountain look soft and causes the trees on the right to seem to have a halo.

Still, I really like the fall color.
