I just wanted to show off how much new snow the Cascades got this week. Whoo-hoo! I was backpacking through 3-foot deep drifts in the Jefferson Wilderness on Saturday after about 10-15 inches of new white stuff fell in the days prior. Double that amount should fall in the Cascades this week. Winter is here in the mountains!
This is Mount Jefferson as seen from the summit of Park Ridge (7000 feet).

Beautiful shot! Flowing water is always amazing. Whether it is liquid or frozen.

NICE! Great shot is great as usual. I'll be strapping on the snow shoes this week with a bit of luck!!!!

You never cease to amaze me Marc! Your ability to trek through unforgiving environments in search of incredible wilderness is inspiring! This is an incredible scene with your name all over it!

Great shot Marc.

Great image. Love the low clouds and leading lines in the snow. Looks like we're going straight from summer directly to winter.

Darien, I did this without snowshoes. But give it another few weeks and you'll need them.

classic "Adamus". When are you going to publish a book?

When I stop taking so many photo trips and buying expensive gear.

Stunning. Truly stunning..... I knew these shots were coming but to see them before October 1st is a rarity (???) - Only thing that bugs me a little is all the trees leaning. It actually works in a way for them to lean as if in "awe" of the mountain...... I REALLY like this regardless.....

It's not exactly a secret which season you like the best, is it Marc? Glad to see you back in your element. I can only imagine your mood when the snow started.
It's always a stretch to find some constructive criticisim for your stuff, but you don't happen to have a little extra room on the right in the original, do you?

Somehow I know you'd be there.

NIce one, Marc.
IMHO snow in September really sucks!

I like the leaning trees, Marc - they really add to the scene, buckling under the snow and wind. Very nice. If you end up having to fit this into a conventional frame dimension, I'd crop from the top, and sacrifice the darkest part of thte sky. The wind patterns in the snow are just beautiful!
