Fire in the Sky
I can't count the number of times I've stood in this spot at Reflection Lake hoping for a decent sunrise. This was Thursday morning. BTW, fall color is looking good around Paradise.

Beautiful Mark. I got the same amazing sunrise in the enchantments on Thursday as well. Glad to see you finally got the color you were looking for here.

Looks like you got quite a show! I'm glad you were able to capture some of it. The lake looks really smooth. You must be living right  .

Are the lighter patches in the trees supposed to have the red tinge? I can't tell if that's the sun *almost* pushing through the trees or if you somehow went too far with color correction or if there's some refelction in the GND. Anyway, that's minor.

Sean, thanks. No color correction done. The sun was just about ready to poke through and what you're seeing is light coming thru gaps in the trees. Actually, if I lighten the dark area enough you can see the beams of light but you can also see the road that winds through this area.

Looks like the same spot I have had no success from yet. Beautiful color and refection. I might need to take a quick trip up there to look at the foliage before heading south this week for the PNWNP color event.

Mark,
I'm still on the fence with this one and have gone back to it many times. I'm just not sure whats holding me back from saying "wow".

Beautiful work, Mark...

Wow - really beautiful, Mark. I think you could crop this just below the reflection of the center trees, and shift the focus up to the sky a bit more. Very nice.
