Hi All - I'm new to the forum. Has anyone been to Rampart Range in Co. Springs. If so, can you please give me an update on the aspen color there. I'm planning to visit next weekend and wanted to make sure it's not too late. Thanks in advance.

Judging by what I've seen from afar, next weekend should be pretty much perfect. I've checked out some Web cams for Cripple Creek, which is higher, and the color is starting to get really good there. On recent trips to C. Springs, I've seen most of the trees up on Cameron's Cone were not yet changing, but I haven't seen them in about a week. I think next week you'll be golden -- pun fully intended!

I went up Rampart Range road this weekend Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The wind stripped the leaves off many of the trees that sit on ridgelines, but the color is starting to get good in the more protected areas. It should be fine throughout the week so long as the wind doesn't go nuts again.
