Sometimes you can't always get the large format up in time. I was driving back from Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park and loved the awesome clouds forming overhead. I also liked the 'spotty' lighting coming and going. So I setup at this location with no lighting popping anyplace. I had the Canon 5D and 70-200mm up and ready. I never thought there would be any LF shot when all of a sudden the light came popping through. It was really fleeting so this was my only shot at it. Oh well!

You know the saying, f8 and be there! I like this for the exact reasons I like Arlen's earlier-posted shot of Kebler. Nice stuff! You're certainly no d-bag!

Reallly great stuff Rich. I bet the 4X5 trannies from this trip are enough to make a blind man see. Look forward to getting a cuppa coffee and comparing notes on the trip.
nice! BTW, got some snaps from Bodie, CA - this is your kinda place...old mining town...and boy, would I have loved to be shooting LF there...need the movements! But also a great place for panos. ...check out www.pbase.com/kartik78/california . we should shoot together again, it's been 2 years!
Good to hear from you. Oh yeah Bodie is on my short list. I have been there once but only while shootin MF gear. It does scream for LF, movements and traditional B/W. I'll ping you next time I get to the bay area.
