Black Crowned Night Heron
Sorry i havent posted for a while but have had photographers over each side of a near 3 week trip to the states so its time to knucle down to get some processing done before i go back next month, This image was taken early morning in the San Francisco bay delta, The pool had been cut off by the receding tide and the herons and Egrets were there to catch the stranded fish

Welcome back.
The heron's eye really grabs your attention and is in quite stark contrast to the rest of the scene.Doesn't look the best place in the world for a bit of beach crawling, not without a good set of waterproofs anyway.
