This is a Mule Deer taken in Yosemite NP, They are quite tame and you can get very close to them, I watched a deer near a trail so slowly made my way until near and layed down on the trail and the deer casually walked past me, El Capitan is in the background
i'm enjoying these images of your trip. i like the angle and the dynamics of the shot really draw you in. it's a shame that tree is interrupting the horns. maybe you could close that out? or have you got a later shot when it's walked past that point?
Thanks for the comments
David yes i agree a very special place, I have already booked the flights for next month and hope that there should be some snow, California for 2 weeks and a week in North Carolina so chalk and cheese photographically

This must be pretty much right on top of you Dave. Tried photographing a cow a few weeks ago and looking through the viewfinder at 17mm, the cow looked miles away. It wasn't until it licked my lens that I realised I was a bit too close
Nice work and I love these angles

Great setting, and a fine pose captured from the deer

Great shooting angle, pose and backdrop. I think Yosemite is one of the best locations I have ever visited!
David
Good to see the variety of shots, like the pose on this one, very 'Deer hunter'. Still like the otter :-)
Want a bag man for the end of the month? Talk soon.
