This is just off Burr Trail. I was in the Escalante region a few weeks ago, before any colors. We also hit Peek-A-Book the morning after some pretty good rains, and it was *eye-opening* how high on the walls the water marks were from the flash flood that had been through. I don't really have any good shots of the canyon that demonstrate that, I was just so awed by what I saw!

Nice portfolio of images, Paul. The contrast of backlit cottonwoods and the red glow of the canyon walls makes for a striking scene. Looks like you had some absolutely killer skies, too! Peek-a-Boo after the rain is a really cool intimate/abstracty image. Nice work!

Great stuff, Paul. The canyon in the images doesn't look like Peek-A-Boo to me though. I think it's actually the Dry Fork, a little upstream from it. Peek-A-Boo is a pretty shallow and narrow slot with very jagged walls.

Very Nice Paul. I already know that I'll be heading back to Capitol Reef many times, but this reinforces that feeling.

Alot of good stuff in your group. I like the strike valley shot. Good clarity and the colors are nice and vivid. The spooky shots are both very nice too.

Paul, I like this image a lot, the way the tree follows the shape of the rock and the backlighting, cool.

Thanks, guys! Mel, if/when you get back, send me an email, I have quite a few ideas. Todd, looks like your clouds are headed this way this weekend. WTF!!

I love the backlighting on the tree. It makes a great point of central focus and the canyon walls are able to give a sense of depth to the scene. Very Nice.
