I put a slide show together with proshow gold I thought I would share. It isn't nature photography. I'm not completly happy with the motion. I think it needs less movement or something. The online version is low quality video but maybe you can see it.

The movement is OK but you need to vary it more - change directions, pull in and then out with the next one instead of most of them all being the same direction. But the main issue I see is that you need to center your images on screen, and not have black showing at the top and bottom - it is OK to have a vertical with black on each side (an equal amount), but floating the image around in a sea of black is very distracting to me - I see folks doing this with Pro Show a lot and am not sure why - is it difficult to center an image with this program? I use a Mac program so have never used it myself. And if that is exactly what you wanted to do with the images then forget what I said - it is your program and is a great one!

That's so odd - I've just been evaluating ProShow Gold and ProShow Producer over the last few days. They're pretty flexible, but is there better software out there for a Windows platform?

Tim F: I have used Pro Show Producer very successfully. It is a very powerfull program with the ability to use layers, sound and it has the ability to produce shows on DVD, on your hard drive and even for emailing. I am still learning the software but I tend to like it very much.
Tim E. No problem on centering and using full images. I tend to convert all my images to a resolution of 768 x 1080 for slide shows, since that matches most projecters resolution.
Tim B. I have looked around and have not found anything better. Pro Show Producer is a little pricey ( $295) but does a bunch of stuff. Pro Show Gold is about $49.95 and does most of what you can do in Producer.
I just completed a show for my Grand Canyon trip, I will try to get it on my website soon.

Tim,
I love the story that this tells for sure. It is great that people take the time to put such a big smile on kids faces and share these experiences with them.
As for the show, I agree with all of Tim E's comments above and also think that if you shorten the transition time between slides it will help. The prolonged blurr of the two images is too much for me. I also think you have enough room in the pictures to zoom in and fill the frame more and then slow down the panning. It does not take very much panning to indicate movement and a little movement goes a long way.
This looks like a long and hard day but a fun one. Thanks for sharing it. It put a smile on my face.

Thanks a ton guys. I'm going to start over with those ideas in mind. I think it will over all cut down the movement, which is ok. Its hard to change directions, I seem to like them coming at you more than going away. I'm going to see if I can figure out how to speed up the transition as well. I don't think the short coming is with the program at all.
Dale- It was a long hard day and fun. The other riders really got it done. They are strong riders for sure. Peter, the guy that pulled over the mountain, was unbelievable. They all have "god" status in my book.

Ok with Tim's suggestions, I studied and remade the show. As far as "is it hard to center in proshow", no. It is rather simple, just zero some numbers. I believe the reason you see center troubled shows is because we see shows that use a lot of movement and we want to emulate that effect. There is a trick though, but it is more for experts. If you use layers and other effects the floating images work better. It loses something if its on a sea of black.
I think there are still 2 photos that show some edge on the top. I think it is acceptable though. I think it is a considerable improvement. There is one area I wish I had done differently. Someone will point it out and I will say "yep thats the spot". The overall quality of this show should be better than that mpg file.
By the way I added a photo that Glenn took that I think is very good!
sorry I had to delete it due to a security issue with active X, now I have a mess to clean up.
Thanks Randy(if that link works)

I loaded this up on another computer and noticed you have to have the active x plugin. I hate that kind of stuff and probably wouldn't even do it myself. The activeX plugin compromised my site so you can believe that wont happen again. I'm just glad some stranger spelled something wrong on google and let me know that some content seemed out of place.

I would appreciate tips for the slide show.

Can someone make those links work? :)
