Here's a recent digital capture from a couple weekends ago. This particular shot was beyond the lens range that I have with my 4x5 so I quickly borrowed my friends D70 and Sigma 70-200EX to capture this one. I took 4 vertical shots (2 different exposures of each shot that I combined) and pano-merged them in CS3. I then did a slight crop to 4x5 so that that resulting image would match my other shots from this area in terms of framing ratio.

All thoughts are welcome. Thanks for looking and I hope you all are having an enjoyable fall.

Joel, Sounds like you went to a lot of effort to get this shot. I really like the colors and the mist on the water. I find the mist in the upper trees a little distracting because I want the intense fall colors to pop rather than be muted. I like the composition--it makes me want to see what's around the bend. Nice work.

I tried a similar multi-image technique on a shot in Canada earlier this week. I haven't successfully combined them yet, but I'll post if I get it to work.

Thanks Chuck for your thoughts, much appreciated. Regarding the level of work required to merge everything together...its actually quite a bit easier than dealing with a film scan since the amount of color and tonal correction is much much less. Using a dSLR is quite a bit of fun, with the introduction of the Canon 1dsIII, I'm really tempted to move into digital full time...if I could somehow afford it!
