Tioga Pass was closed because of snow, so I had to get home via Monitor Pass. Monitor Pass has some great color too and I've never Hope Valley so aglow. Get there now. It's been very cold and snowy. It probably will be gone by next weekend.

You're so right Dan. I couldn't believe how fast things had progressed at North Lake and the South Lake side in just 4 days. Sounds like it was cold and windy up there.
Dan, thanks for posting the link to the group photo shot. Sorry I missed this grouping shot by just the one day. It was great to have at least met up with Preston a few days earlier and then both you & Lon the last day I was up there. Looked to be a beautiful group of dogs too, it had to be a lot of fun this day I'm sure.

The fall color is wonderful right now up and down the Sierra range. I found lovely Aspen groves as far south as McGee Canyon and as far north as the Lake Tahoe area. Quite a nice treat last Friday, woke up to an inch of snow at Sorenson's Resort. It added nice contrast to the peaks for a couple days.

Tioga Pass re-opened Sunday afternoon, FYI.
