Shot into the rising sun and mist, over exposed by about +1.5EV to hold detail in the deer then rectified in the raw processing to bring the blacks back to the BG. 2:1 crop, of full width, to eliminate the bad reflections above deer.
600mm/Tpod with me in prone in grass
5000'/F4/400ASA
PS as above
Excellent work - captures the feeling of that time of day perfectly

Hmm nice shot Tom, no nits here. One Q, by over exposing, i assume you had o bring back the colour? As most articles and from practice, i find underexposing brings better colour saturation at dawn and dusk.

Very nice Tom. My only slight nit is that "hair" like thing below the lip - I presume that's something she's eating. It looks just like a hair to me but then again my eyes are not that great :) be worse because of the reduction to web size. I love the feeling that this format brings to the shot though. Thanks for sharing
No not that much as the colour was intense to start with and the 1Ds2 is very sensative to red anyway. I have pushed the saturation and contrast a wee bit which will also help with perception of whatever colour is there.
