This weekend I'll be heading to the Smokies TN/NC......just wandering if anybody has any tips or updates that may be helpful? I do realize that I'm going to be a lil early but this was the only weekend I was able to schedule in advance around work.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!!! :wavey:

Hi Jude
I live near the Smokies and I'm afriad the colors are not great this year. It's been very dry and warm this summer. I was there a couple weeks ago and the water levels are way down in the creeks. We did get a cold snap this week that should bring out the tree color.

Here's a website that predicts fall colors http://fall.tnvacation.com/foliage/ It has some suggestions for places to see color. The crowds may be thick in the popular areas, but there are many trails were you can lose them. If you go to Cades Cove, go early for the best chance of wildlife, early morning light, and low crowds.

Hope you have a great time! - Richard Siggins
