Iron and Wood Detail
Posted on M&N also but I wanted to hear from the local folks. I get more feedback on tecnique on this board. Nothing special here except for the texture of the wood and chameleon-color of the iron.

I really like the bumps on the iron. It might've been interesting with a little more DOF, particularly if the lower left were sharp. I think your deep shadows really help the graphic nature of this. I'm curious though why it's not even (seeming deeper on the right than the left). Was there something reflecting light up on the left?

Nice eye.

Besides the great color and texture you achieved, I sure like the horizontal vs. vertical elements and how they are arranged. Great find and good eye to compose it this way.
