Baird's Sandpiper
Have been a bit absent from the forums lately, but I'm still around:smile:

A real treat in Europe, this was Denmark's only 3rd Baird's Sandpiper. It's a juvenile. Taken in Skagen one month ago.

I am not sure if this comp work - it's full frame except for making it into a panorama. What do you think ?

1D MarkIII + 500/4 + ext1.4; iso400, 1/2000, f7.1, comp -1/3.

Looks fine to me, with the foot up it looks like the bird is trying to sneak out of frame :)

I agree with Paul, with its foot up like that it works...for me anyhow. Anyway an absolutely cracking shot, perfect all round :toast: :toast: How on earth do the birders spot these rarities, they all look the same to me

Lovely low angle and lighting-Great detail and spot on exposure-the Comp is different from the norm but works in this case-no nits :toast:

Like this a lot Helge!

Although unconventional, it does seem to work, and the bands of oof bg enhance the pano crop nicely

Unconventional as Alan says but in this instance I think it works well, mainly because of the line of slightly darker water trailing behind the bird.
I like the various bands of colour too. :toast:
