Hi
I'm planning to order a remote switch (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/164276-REG/Canon_2476A001_Remote_Switch_RS_80N3.html ) for my camera. I'd like to know your experience on the length of the cord. Do you think it is sufficient or should I order a 10m extension cord ( http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/164272-REG/Canon_2440A001_Extension_Cord_ET_1000N3.html) also, considering the wireless transmitter is more expensive than this. If my usage is minimal I'd like to stick with the basic one right now. However I'd like to know your thoughts on this.

I saw some cheaper ones in ebay as well http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200160275394&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=010. Not sure if they really work at all!!

Appreciate your reply.

Which you should get depends on your usage, and you haven't described how you plan on using it.

I have the short remote cord because I'm using it for floral/macro work most of the time, and occasionally for landscapes and posed portraiture, so there's simply no need for me to be far from the camera, thus no need for the longer cord or the wireless release.

Also, you might check to see if you need to position the wireless release in front of the camera for it to work. I believe that's the case on some models, and that would remove some of its utility.

I plan to use it for landscape most of the time and for wildlife once in a while. I realize that for landscape 1m cord could be enough. However I have seen that for wildlife especially shooting some birds in blind I might foresee a lengthy cord.

I'd like to know the experience of the wireless one also.

Thanks

I use the RS80N3, but would strongly recommend the TC80N3. If are planning on shooting things from so far away, I guess the TC80N3 would give you much more control.
