Have a weeks vacation and the wife and I are thinking of heading up to the cuyahoga valley. Are the colors changing enough to make it worth the trip. In this area (Highland County)the leaves are way behind schedule and many have fallen off already due to the drought we have had all summer.

Hi David, I was out today to see how things are progressing. There are lots of leaves on the ground, but still many trees that haven't started to change. It's kinda weird. We're having the same effect as you with the drought -- leaves are turning brown and dropping off of some trees. A lot of the maples are just starting to get red tinges. The beeches haven't even started to turn. I'm hoping we'll get some good color yet -- probably by next weekend. Because of the lack of rainfall our waterfalls are not at their most picturesque. Not sure how flexible your vacation schedule is, but I'll be updating this forum as things progress in the CVNP.
