I am heading to Black Canyon National Park next weekend and was hoping to get a few suggestions on great photo locations while I am there. I plan on doing sunset at North Rim and making a trip down East Portal Road.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The North Rim is nice. It has more interesting rock formations that you can use in the foreground than the south rim. Most of the scenic overlooks you can drive right up to are good for photography. My favorite spot is the last scenic overlook on the east end of the road. This spot is probably better for sunrise, as I was facing west for most of the shots. You should be able to get plenty of nice shots along the rim at sunset, though. I was there on an overcast day, which can be good as you can photograph in any directiion and don't have to worry about the harsh shadows.
East Portal Road is nice, though it's best in early Oct. with the fall color. It doesn't go into the deepest or most photogenic part of the canyon. There is a foot trail on the west end of the road that heads farther up into the canyon, though I haven't been up it too far. If you're more ambitious, I think the trail heading down into the canyon from the visitor center leads to a much more scenic part of the canyon.

The north rim is sweet. You might see me there! If it's a fairly clear day, Chasm View overlook is a good place for soft twilight illumination after sunset, looking east.
