A fine trip to Richmond park yesterday, did'nt really achieve any of the images I had planned on getting prior to going, but I did get a lot of images that I am very happy with.
This was a happy outcome to a bit of a mistake, photographing one stag; two others came running out of the woods straight towards me, in a bit of a panic I must have rolled the aperture dial against my clothes, but I stood my ground and panned with one of the stags and cursed at the slow sound of the shutter firing............

Great action Nigel - nicely captured
Funny how mistakes often turn out well in this game

Its great when these kinds of mistakes happen. You must have a wry smile when you reviewed the shot. Perfect panning motion blur. Love these action shots - best thing to do when the light is poor.

Many thanks for the kind comments, and yes Elliott, a very wry smile!
I think some of the other work I've been doing this year has honed my panning technique quite a bit... http://ngbjets.blogspot.com/

Hello Nigel
I really like this shot, a great plus that the head is sharpe. Not bad for a mistake
