Turned on the computer this morning and the colours had gone to electric greens and pinks. Went through checks for drivers and the like to no effect.
Just for the sake of it I degaussed the monitor and it returned to normal colours. Never had this happen before on any monitor let alone my year old Lacie 19' monitor.
In researching it most articles seem to talk about gradual colour shifts particularly at the edges. Couldn't find any information regarding such a quick, extreme shift.
There had been nothing magnetic near it, no mechanical devices that aren't normally there such as the computer box. It has occurred to me that given the northern latitude perhaps it was an electromagnetic burst. Other than that I'm at a bit of a loss for a reason.
I have never heard of this before. Given your latitude, it is quite possible an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) created the problem. You might check to see if there was a coronal mass ejection from the sun in the days prior to your color shift. If there was, an EMP was likely the culprit.
Hopefully, this not a sign that the monitor is reaching its max life.

Has anybody had similar experiences?
