Whilst chopping fire wood on Saturday I noticed small piles of saw dust under some logs. Every five minutes or so a different wasp (I think) would return to each burrow with a hoverfly they had caught and paralysed, presumably as food for their larvae when they hatch. Can anyone throw any light on the species please?
C&C welcome, already thinking some more depth of field would be good but not a bad first day with my new lens!
