Just got back from a two week trip through California and Oregon. I drove 4,400 miles and had alot of unexpected adventures. I still have a ton of sorting and editing to do before I can present my full collection of images from this trip. Here are a few images from Death Valley to get things started...

You drove 4400 miles to see some sand dunes? You could have saved yourself 4000 miles of driving and done that over by Alamosa!
Nice shots so far Scott.

Man, those are great! The first one is my fave, followed by the last one. Fantastic stuff, Scott. Can't wait to see more.

Awesome stuff, I'm planning on checking out Death Valley this December. That last one actually looks like the Death Valley Buttes which I want to climb.

Great images, Scott. That first one is something else though. The human figure adds a lot of impact.

Mmmm, love that last one! The light on the dune is sublime...

Yeah, I like the last one the most. All are very nice though. Sounds like a great trip.

Wow, Scott! Those are spectacular!! Excellent work! Love them all!
Killer trip!! I really like all of these. If I had to pick one it would be the last one with the edge lit sandunes. But I really like all of them.
Cant wait to see more.

Really dig the first one, though they are all quite nice.

Yeah - what they said!

Scott, the 2nd and 4th are great. The first just has too much negative space at the bottom, cropping to just below the small shadow coming in from the left makes it much better in my eyes.
Nice texture-fest Scott! I like 'em all, but the last one really hits the spot for me.

Thanks for the comments and critiques. I'm glad to hear that you like this round of photos. Next stop, a snowy morning in Sequoia NP.

Nice work, Scott! The little mini dunes in the third one almost look like fur, and I love the contrast in the last one.

Fantastic series of images, Scott. Like the others, I'm liking them all, but the pastels and the sense of scale in the first one set it apart from the others for me. Great work!

I'm liking the second and fourth one of this series. Looks like a successful trip.
