Hello,

I would like to know what is the most respected photography organization/association that a proffesional photographer can join as a member.

I will appreciate any help.

Thanks

Mohsen, joining an organization ganders no respect in my opinion. Here in the US the the Professional Photographers of America is probably the most respected entity, but anyone can join for the price of membership. Respect as a photographer comes from earning their certifications as a master, and winning juried competitions.

We're members of PPA and WPPI due to our business. Another possibility specifically for nature photographers is NANPA.

We don't belong in any hopes that we'll garner respect. Instead we rely on them for services (insurance) and resources (marketing and business resources, as well as education). PPA provides the most of both, but they're also the most expensive. NANPA went through fits and starts as a new organization, but more recently have matured to the point of usefulness. We haven't re-enlisted because we already get so much from PPA and WPPI, but would do so immediately if we were only nature shooters.
