I was up in the E. Sierras this weekend also. Much was blown away but I saw this color up Hilton Creek and shot this aspen with my fisheye.

Sorry I missed all of you (those who stayed anyway).

Warren

Interesting composition. The sky is a distraction though.

Warren,

Even though we've all shot this perspective, this is a magnificent aspen and I like what you've done. I think you could crop most of the top containing the sky and still maintain the same look and feel of this upward view.

And like you found, there's ALWAYS something to find despite all the reports of a poor year for the aspen in the Sierra.

Nice shot,
Lon

Hi Warren,

I find myself really like this one - specially the lightness of the scene. I don't mind the sky color. However, I might suggest a small crop from the top, mostly to eliminate the additional leaves that are peeking in (most likely from another tree).

Kudos Warren for making it UP the hill...
NO, everyone does not have a fisheye.....
I also do not mind the light sky, but
I DO agree that the Upper Right cluster is distracting.
I would not crop but rather clone them out.
I like the feeling of my eye following the up the trunk
and forming the embracing circle of the branches..
Very nice!!

in gratitude,
Nelcha
