fungus group

hi all,

too cold to go diving...it was nice wandering around the local forest trying to find something to photograph, a nice break from the norm. anyway, i found this huge group of fungi that went from about floor level to about 6 feet up the trunk. enough for me to get underneath with my tripod anyway. i think they are past their best as there was white spore everywhere and some of them looking positively mouldy. would have made a really good time delay project for video, oh well maybe next year for that one.

i think i used f27 @ about 4 secs. 30mm sigma. natural light.

Hi Mark,

Love the viewpoint and dappled backdrop.
The species is Oudemansiella mucida or more commonly known as Porcelain Fungus in case you didn't already know.
Edible as well apparantly although the slimy surface when fresh looks a bit un-appetizing. :wavey:
