One from yesterday; after a fruitless effort to get some decent crow shots I was driving down a country lane on the way home when I spotted this pair on a fence post.

Shot virtually straight into the sun from the car window - good job I got this one because when I tried to get out of the car for a better shot they were gone like rockets

800mil lenses are not easy to handle on the front seat of a car!

Techs
D2Xs+sig 300-800 @ 800mm
ISO 400
1/250th @ f9 (spot metered -2/3 EV)
ViewNX + CS3 layers,levels,SH adjust,Smart Sharpen

As always, thanks for looking folks

Nice, looks good witht he back lighting in the fur. The 800mm is a monster to deal with, i'm glad i only have my 500mm. (hmm is it me or does that just sound dodgy...)

Nice, but would suggest a verticle crop 1:2 from LHS

Back light works very well in your image Andy. And two animals in the same image are always bonus.

Cheers,
Marko

Nearly missed this one. Like it a lot and Marko's thoughts pretty much sum up my own.
