Fallow 'fighting'
Went to Richmond on Saturday - the Red Deer 'rut' appeared to be over as I only heard one stag 'roar' all morning and no activity. The Fallow on the other hand were very active and these two 'bucks' were at it for about 15 minutes on the edge of the wood before taking there contest into the woodland where the light was too contrasty. I did however see the same two 'bucks' over an hour later some 500 metres away and they were still at it.

I took this image in a light mist/fog which made the image difficult to process as to try and show the mist resulted in a flat image with no real atmosphere so I have processed it more than I normally would to increase contrast and clarity!

Great action shot David. The overhanging branch frames it very well too.

Yes, good shot, I, too like the bit of framing by the tree.

Nice one Dave, as said the tree framing is attractive.... Even the Fallows weren't that active on Sunday.

Really nice action here.

Hi David,

Went to Richmond myself on RThursday and would concur that Red Deer activity s by and large over - some early morning bellowing but otherwise pretty quiet with stags fully knowing thier pecking order place now!

Nice pic here - really bloodshot eyes show the strain of it all well, and the nice lighting we've been able to enjoy the last few days too.

Great shot Dave! I'm from USA so when I read "Richmond" I think of a city in Virginia. Is this a National Park or game preserve? Where is it located? Thanks Kent

Nice dynamic shot David.
Kent, Richmond park is a national nature reserve and I believe is the biggest park in London.

Splendid shot David. It very nicely conveys a feeling for the effort involved - I feel tired just looking at it

I like the tension in this image. It's showing clearly that both animals are throwing it all in. I find branches on top of the image distracting and would probably crop it to panorama format.

Cheers,
Marko
