Here's a photo that I had totally forgotten about and recently "discovered". I had even scanned it, but then forgot about it in a frenzy of processing a batch of photos from a big backpacking trip right afterwards.
This is the 4x5 version of a digital snap that I posted back in August. Needless to say, this one kicks ass over the digi version (not trying to start a debate here... 4x5 vs. pocket digi... no brainer)
I didn't catch a lightning bolt like I was hoping, but I did get a little rainbow action.

Holy Toledo! (only 'cause holy sh*t probably would've been spiked) This is otherworldly!

Todd, you crack me up...sounds like something my grandpa would say. Jack, I really like the range of colors in the sky. Definitely better than the point and shoot version.

Yeah, this is just a bit better than the digicam version.

Amazing, Jack. Where is this?

Beautiful color palette in this photo! I love the way it reads, great sense of depth from the clouds.

Crazy light going on at the bottom of the clouds and on the peaks! Very cool!
Freakin' awesome. Should be a 40X print at the Ridgway Chamber or some Remax office.

Great image!! The clouds are unreal. The light is also beautiful.

Thanks for your comments!
Tony - this is a view of Ridgway and the Sneffels Range. Ouray is up in the deep valley where the rainbow and rain is.

Spectacular light and a great composition. Must look stunning in a large print.
Thank you for posting.

Agree with all the comments above, Jack - NICE! Possible to get to this spot in the winter (ski in?). Also agree with Dave S - this should be hanging on the walls in Ridgeway.
