Can you tell I like the area? Well the drought has again been bad but also allows different views. Th is is normally called 10 foot falls-currently it looks more like 1 foot. That rock big slope in the FG is where I slipped one winter and cracked my pointer finger when my tripod landed on my hand against the rock. The finger was nothing compared to what could have been if I didn't stop my sliding which is how my hand was in harm's way.Anyways just a little personal story thrown in

The mountains really have taken a bad knock from this drought, all the falls, creeks I have seen this past month are really low!. I really like the mood in this shot Leann, and the touch of yellow breaks up the scene very nicely!.

Nice color Leanne. I like how it seems to radiate from that one tree.

I'm from WNC (Wayneville) and I was out yesterday taking some pictures of the fall colors (which are great right now, btw). I went back to a small creek off the Blue Ridge Parkway that I visited early this summer, and it is about half the size that it was . I have tried to upload the image that I did take, but I can't for some reason.
Were is this image taken? It looks very nice. I love the color in the rock!

Hey guys,
Thanks for the comments.
Daniel: This is from the Wilson Creek Wilderness Area. The rock of the gorge is very pretty especially when wet. To get there either take Hwy 181 out of Morganton or there are a couple ways from the BRP (Hwy 181 or Forestry roads).

Leann, this is stunning! The fog and resulting color gradient from foggy to brilliant is wonderful. You need to post this in ESS. (you may have already done that, I just got back in town and haven't checked yet)

Thanks Bill-good to see you :-)
I may post it with another version taken a few days later after the rain had set in raising the water volume.
