Go Rockies!!!
OK, so maybe a little off topic for a nature photography web site, but hey, we are called the "Rocky" Mountain Nature Photographers after all, and this is a pic of an awesome Colorado sunset!!

Not that I'm rooting against them, because I do like them, but I can't entirely agree with the go Rockies sentiment (my grandfather finished his major league career as a Red Sox). I will say that I was fortuante enough to see both teams in person this season. I think the media is missing the boat on how good of a team the Rockies have this season. There offense is excellent, and the their pitching is vastly underrated. The teams are a virtual push in my mind, despite the east coast media crap about the Red Sox. I think the Sox pitching is just slightly better, and really I'm referring to Beckett and Schilling just being clutch postseason pitchers. The Red Sox win in 7 behind the incredible pitching of Beckett. But the Rox give'em hell, and take all three in Denver.

Brian, you forgot to mention that the Rockies also have the best fielding percentage (Defense) of any team this year.....and still the odds are 2-1 Sox in Vegas.

Hehe!! I KNEW I should have bet you on that San Diego/Colorado game! Darn it!!

Brian, I think you are right, it';s gonna be a fun series to watch. Kinda don't think it will be a blow out from either side! And very cool about your grandfather playing for the Sox!

Let me ask you guys something, what would ya all do to go the world series?? I recently saw a journal entry on deviantart from the guy who heads up the Rockies Fan Photos for the Rockies, he was looking for a few other photographers who could run around during the game and take pics of people. Now the pay is next to nothing, 10- an hr, but ya get to see the whole game and everything. I imagine unfettered access. http://denverart.deviantart.com/journal/15147767/ if any of you are interested

Brent- My Grandpa was actually in the Indian system for most of his pro career, so until last week we were cheering for the Indians. Here's team picture from the 1955 Indians (My grandpa is fourth from left on the top row). Five Hall of Famers on that team, unfortunately the Mantle led Yankees caught them the last week of the season or they would have returned to World Series after being swept in 1954 World Series.

Some of the stories my grandpa can tell are incredible. And some of the memorabilia he has laying around would make people's jaw drop (and he thinks almost nothing of it). Thanks for letting me think of my grandpa.

Hey Brent...at least the Chargers beat the Donkeys. I drove around Colorado for two weeks with a Bolts sticker on the truck and at least something good happened.

I think I had some distant relatives in the Indian system, too! (Cherokee, I think.) I hope they had better offense than the Rox are showing tonight. And a little defense, while they're at it. So much for a sweep.

Well Brian, there is a chance that your grandfather and one of my distant uncle's played ball together...though his last year was 1952...he played with the Tigers, Yankees, and the St Louis Browns http://www.baseball-reference.com/m/mapescl01.shtml

After game one, all I can say is Ouchhh!

But a little pain for Denver is okay after beating the Steelers.

That game was just was painful to watch. The Rockies walked three guys in a row with the bases loaded, went through 4 pitchers in 5 innings...served up several world series hitting records by the 5th inning...and allowed the Sox to score 11 runs with two outs. And...Morales gave up seven runs in 2/3 of an inning. Surely they can (and must) do better tonight.
