This chap can be found at Titchwell where he launches himself vertically and then dives. It is believed that he is feeding on shrimps and has been doing so for the past three years. As a result his plumage, particularly breast, has started to turn pink.
It's quite normal behaviour for a black-headed gull, they often fly slowly over an area and temporarily hover for a second before plunging head first to dive for small fish and other aquatic creatures (i.e. shrimps in your example)
Bit too big in the frame for me but it's an interesting shot,a good bit of behaviour captured and would make a great addition to a whole series of images showing this particular feeding technique.
The flying water droplets are a nice bonus.
