You certainly had much better color in Lundy than some of us CANPers did in early October! Most of the trees at this pond were still green!
I like both images. In the first one, I'd be tempted to crop out the pine branch on the left side. I prefer the saturation in the first image over that of the second one; it looks a bit oversaturated. I do like the misty feel of both photos.
Now, I will put on my 'Moderator's' hat for a minute... It is preferrable to post different images in separate topics. Doing so prevents confusion on the part of those making further comments. Remember that NPN members can post one image every 24 hours. Thanks for your cooperation!
I'm glad you were rewarded with nice Autumn color in the Sierra! We hope you'll post more of your Sierra images here.
Love both shots, but I think the second one is just a bit over-saturated for my tastes.

both are great but I prefer #1 because it is more mysterious. It reveals less about the scene and leaves more to the imagination.

I too really like the mysterious feel of the first image.

Thanks for the feedback, after shrinking shot #2 I cranked the contrast (obviously a bit too much).
thanks again.

Ed,
I know this spot well (who doesn't?) and I think you've caught this at an ideal time. I also think the weather helped out here because this scene can be pretty contrasty when the sun is out.
I like the first one, although portions of it seem a little bright. I really like the second one, especially the pleasing composition. I might be tempted to crop down from the top in to a pano format to remove the gray skies. And the saturation could be a bit much, but really, I'm thinking it looks good to me.
Ed, I really love the second one!
I agree about the color being just a little over the top,
but that's a minor tweak.

Very nice Ed..
Thank you for sharing the Beaver Pond in Fall.. I usually see it in Spring.
What a treat.....Maybe this little area gets sheltered and
protected a little more? Have to check it out next year also
Hope you enjoyed your Trip and workshop while in our area...
Please feel free to email me with your thoughts on the workshop
