Falling Water Creek
I spent quite a bit of time on Falling water Creek over the weekend and was pretty happy with this one.

It was really good to see everyone I knew, and those whom I hadn't met. Tim B. cooked up some chicken that still makes my mouth water when I think about it. Mmm Mmm good!

If it weren't for the pictures you all have been posting since last night, I would think all you did was eat, drink and be merry at this gathering! This looks to be a special place with tons of character Bill. I can see from this image why you would spend so much time here, very nice! :toast:

Nice work, Bill - love the warm tone and subtle shades of color. Is this picture near this overlook I was at Sat. morning? Wish I could go back this weekend... maybe next, though.

Good one, Bill, and an interesting perspective on these unusual bedrock formations.

If this is where I'm thinking of, I almost fell off that bluff that's in the upper left hand corner once about 10 years ago. I was coming down the forest road with one of my Irish setters when we stopped to check out the creek at that point. Darby was nosing around here and there when he lost his footing in a sloping slick chute and went sliding toward the edge of the bluff. When I jumped in the chute to go after him the first thing I did was lose my footing, too, and start sliding right behind him. Darby managed to stop close to the edge, but then I slid into him and almost sent him over, and then finally I was able to grab him and pull him back up over me and out of there.

I can look back on it and appreciate the comical side of it now, but it wasn't very funny at the time. Thanks for giving me an excuse to tell the story.

Bill, this is a really nice shot and I agree with Tim, the warm tones really make this shot. This can be an exciting rapid in a canoe. I am glad you did not fall down the cliff while taking the picture! Thanks again, for the great breakfast on Saturday morning.

Randy, I have been in a similar situation that you described above. It is really a helpless feeling. Your story brought back memories of some of my near misses!

Randy - I'm glad you lived to tell that story! I would think a fall from there might be a fatal one  The rocks can be really slick, even if they don't look like it.

I appreciate everyone's nice comments. I wish we could have had a little more water and color, but sometimes I think less is more, at least concerning the water. I look forward to doing it again next year. :toast:
