Here is a site I came across that may be of interest.
For $1500 they will do a one day class for up to 15 people.
If we can get 10 people from the PNWNP that's $150 each, date & location to be decided. A good way to learn something and meet with fellow travelers.
If there is any interest, LEMENO!

Interesting although I bet there are some folks on this forum who could teach this same material for a LOT less if not free.
If you ever want to know how to cut mats using a Fletcher Matt Cutter in the Puget Sound Area just ask me. I might just teach for a good dinner with fellow fotogs in return.

Also...some of the mat cutters you buy already comes with a video tutorial.

I'd be happy to teach anyone what I know. If your in PDX, and need any help, let me know. I use Logen matcutters, if it makes any difference.

I live in the Seattle area, and I'd be more than happy to show anyone on my mat cutter. I've figured out a trick or two to avoid overcuts that I would be willing to share (it actually drives me nuts to see overcuts in high priced galleries).
I personally wouldn't take such a class. I just don't see the value, even if they are teaching you some really tricky stuff. I say that as I learn by doing/experimenting, and matting is much cheaper than a class.
I have a Logan Framer's Edge, 48" if anyone is interested in giving it a try.
